The purest form of football love is found on the streets.
From the bustling alleys of Rio to the proud streets of Manchester, we see fans decorate their cities with football murals, celebrating their local heroes.
It’s the fans bring football to life and it is their love for the game that we wish to celebrate.
Through a digital activation, Visa invited fans from around the world to share their names and be part of the streets of Qatar. We created one of the first Qatari football murals honoring the fans joy, excitement, and lasting legacy of the Middle East's first World Cup.
We generated hype around the mural by sharing the daily process of its creation and live streaming the artist's takeover of Visa's account. Personalized posts with names were sent as direct messages to the fans who participated.
The final result garnered impressive outcomes for Visa's digital presence and left its mark on the streets of Qatar, receiving free media coverage from Al Jazeera, the first English-language news channel headquartered in Western Asia.
Execution
As a key partner, I led the art direction of this project, and was part of the creative thinking and supporting the team throughout the production process.
